The new line undertaken by Imaginart Gallery focuses on presenting to the public a group of artists and works defined by their transgressive and rebellious character to the dominant norms and codes. They are also dedicated to advising private collections and exhibit small-format works by great artists of the last 100 years who, in their day, were also transgressors of the codes present at the time.

Rada Akbar (1988), through the photographic series “Invisible Captivity”, denounces the social laws that condemn women to invisibility in Afghanistan, imposed in the name of politics, economics and religion. Her photographs capture women hidden under black embroidered burkas, with parts of their bodies in plaster casts and covered with writing in the form of fingerprints. Some of the texts are taken from suras of the Koran that correspond to injunctions addressed to women. Others reveal magical formulas taken from talismans, usually sealed, made by the mules to conjure destiny. By revealing the content of these documents with their esoteric iconography, the artist transgresses a religious and social taboo, denouncing the obscurantism and fear that keep women in the roles of victims or witches.
