Galeria de Arte A Ciegas was born at the beginning of 2017 with the idea of providing space for emerging artists close to the gallery owner, Silvana Retamal, who has been following their careers for years. The gallery opened its doors in April 2018 with the goal of showcasing the work of its artists, emphasizing the relationship between the gallerist, the artist, and the collector.

The inspiration behind Galería de Arte A Ciegas has always been to offer visibility and opportunities to emerging artists, especially those who, despite having great talent, initially struggled to find a place in the art market. My main mission is to serve as a bridge between artists, curators, and collectors, creating connections that boost their careers and foster cultural exchange.

Over the years, the gallery has had the pleasure of participating in major national and international art fairs, including JustMad, Hybrid, FIG Bilbao, Arte Santander, Art in Place, and abroad, Pinta Miami. Additionally, it has taken part in various cultural festivals such as PhotoEspaña, Hybrid Arte, La Noche de los Libros, and Los Artistas del Barrio, among others.

Furthermore, the gallery follows an annual program, presenting a new exhibition every two months. Our goal is to ensure that all our artists have the opportunity to showcase their work, rotating them to maintain continuous visibility for each one.

Valeria Real’s work is a meeting point between art and science, experiments and shared voids, with a particular focus on climate change and the relationship between humans and the natural environment. All her creations are sensory constructions, a visual and artistic reflection on the meaning of the most primal and vital elements: water, light, and air.
