Art Photo BCN 2025: 12th Edition of the Contemporary Photography Festival at Disseny Hub Barcelona
Art Photo BCN is once again preparing to bring together the photographic community and open its 12th edition to the public, taking place from May 23 to 25, 2025, at the central hall of Disseny Hub Barcelona. During a month and a half of activities, from late April to the main weekend in May, the festival will transform the city into the photography capital, with a program designed to promote knowledge and enjoyment of the photographic medium for professionals and the general public alike.
This edition will feature the consolidated photography fair, photobook market, and collecting program, curated by Isabel Lázaro, Ana Benavent, and Moritz Neumüller. These sections will bring together 25 exhibitors and 25 invited publishers, reflecting the diversity and breadth of contemporary imagery on an international level. Additionally, in January, the call for portfolio reviews will open to photographers, with a selection committee of experts including Arianna Rinaldo, Jesús Micó, Gonzalo Golpe, Simona Rota, Paolo Maistri and Isabel Lázaro, who will select the 8 finalist projects. The portfolio review winner will receive €2,000, and their work will represent the visual identity of the 2026 edition.
The festival will also include a variety of free activities, reaffirming Art Photo BCN’s commitment to accessibility and participation. Peter Pflügler, winner of the previous edition, will bring life to the 2025 visual identity with his project This Is Not The Right Time, which explores the balance between memory and reality in an evocative visual narrative.
Art Photo BCN 2025 offers a unique opportunity to discover, explore, and experience contemporary photography, establishing Barcelona as a key meeting point for photographic art.
