Once again, Art Photo Bcn has continued to grow and consolidate the appointment it proposes with emerging photography in Barcelona. For the sixth edition, the new location has been the Center Arts Santa Mònica where 42 exhibitors have met with the best of photography and the current photobook in a space in which there have been twenty activities and 7 workshops from 3 to May 5th. In this event, the authors have been able to share their projects and creations with a wide audience of more than 2000 visitors, bringing together all genres and demonstrating the good health and variety of the photographic medium in our days.

The Arts Santa Mònica team and its predisposition has been the key to create the good atmosphere in which the event has been developed, as well as the great selection of works that have been enjoyed thanks to the work of galleries, curators, schools and institutions. The collaboration of the COAC has been indispensable to build the structures that have occupied the exposed photographs. Thanks to the collaboration with Agpograf, all the contents of the event have been collected in a catalog-box that was sold out the same Saturday afternoon, another symptom of the interest and impact of the event both among professionals and the general public.

The addition of Fiebre Photobook Market has made possible the presence of 24 tables with the latest book format to gather publishers, independent labels and self-publishing around the same concept of sharing experiences, new titles and reference works in a growing sector and now most valued.

The awards ceremony was the moment to present news, remember the design and image resulting from the work of Ruben García Castro of Astrolab and present the winners. Erik Estany Tigerstörm won the Art Photo Bcn and Copia’s Wall Award, Romina Almodóvar the EFTI scholarship, David García Fernández the Fuga prize and Oriol Miñarro the IEFC scholarship.

There are still exhibitions and activities in operation at the Associated locations but we take this opportunity to thank the participants, visitors, collaborators and team for the great atmosphere created.
